Reize (レーゼ) is a citizen of Kararagi and one of the only few surviving Oni other than Rem and Ram. Currently, her only appearance can be traced to Re:IF, a non-canonical spin-off story.
Appearance
Reize is a young woman who had short, dark brown hair and light blue eyes. After taking part of the Light Sphere, Reize's appearance would mirror Zarestia's. Reize has milky-white shaggy hair with a magenta strand, white eyebrows, and sharp almond-shaped eyes with a bright yellow color. She wears an immaculate pure black kimono with a magenta sphere and the right side over the left, giving the impression of burial clothes, but with the skirt shortened to the mid-thigh and freely exposing her long, slender legs. Upon being exposed to alcohol, she was reverted to her true appearance, having dark circles around her eyes and bearing a physique smaller than that of Zarestia's.
Personality
Reize is a calm woman, yet she is easily angered by members of the Witch Cult as they were the ones that destroyed her village. This consequentially makes her extremely vengeful and ruthless towards anyone who emits miasma. After taking part of the Light Sphere, Reize gained the desire to murder people like how Zarestia had, as well as her aversion to alcohol.
History
Reize lived in a village in Kararagi, but like Rem and Ram's village, it was attacked by the Witch Cult. On the night of the attack, something was poured into her ear by a mysterious figure, which then gave her the ability to smell the witch's miasma. Despite her poor odds, she survived and sought power to take revenge. Sometime later, Reize received a part of Zarestia's Light Sphere powers and is currently seeking revenge.
Abilities
Magic (魔法, Mahō): With Zarestia's Light Sphere, Reize can utilize the Slasher's immensely powerful wind magic.
Light Sphere (光珠, Mi Tama): Reize received a part of Zarestia's power from the Light Sphere, a gem that serves as Zarestia's anchor, the source and store of her power. For unknown reasons, after acquiring it, she assumed Zarestia's appearance. This effect could be reverted, however.
Miasma Attuned Olfaction: On the night her village was destroyed, Reize was approached by a mysterious figure, who poured "something" into her ear. Following that incident, Reize was able to smell the miasma. With this ability, Reize can easily locate people who are emitting a strong miasma, similarly to how Rem can smell Subaru's miasma after the latter Returns by Death. It is revealed by Echidna in Re:IF Kasaneru that this is a natural ability of the Oni tribe as well as their purpose for existing.
Trivia
- In the Kararagi Reaper Incident side story, Black Tia is introduced. Although Black Tia turned out to be Reize in the Re:IF, it is unknown whether or not she is the same person in the main timeline of the series.
